Bio
Ambar Melendez is a Forestry PhD Candidate in the Natural Resource Ecology and Management department at Iowa State. During her time here, her research has focused on environmental justice, quality of urban natural environments (UNE) and how access and availability to UNE shape communities and social determinants of health. Ambar was born and raised on the island of Puerto Rico and as such Spanish is her first language. She is a PFF alumna, has been on hiring committees and events on campus, has been a TA for our career exploration program and has years of experience offering consultations to university students.
